Weblogic Workshop 8.1: Rapid Application Development (RAD)




SUMMARY:   This course is an introduction to developing J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) applications using BEA's WebLogic Workshop 8.1. An overview of J2EE technology is provided, followed by hands-on experience of developing Web applications using PageFlows, Web Services, WebLogic Controls, XML beans and Enterprise Javabeans.

AUDIENCE:   Students will be able to:
describe characteristics of enterprise applications;
understand and use the WebLogic Workahop IDE.
assemble and deploy a J2EE-compliant application;
Develop pageflow applications
Debug applications in workshop
Benefit from Weblogic Workshop Controls and components;
Use the NetUI Tag library toolbox to develop sophisticated JSPs;
Wok with Web Services;
Handle data through XML Beans;
Work with workflows;
Develop Portal applications
Securing web-based applications.

PREREQUISITES:   Students should be comfortable with Java programming and object-oriented concepts. A minimum of six months coding experience is suggested.

Experienced Java programmers and software engineers preparing to write J2EE applications using the WebLogic Server will benefit from this course.
