To provide the delegate with sufficient skills to be able use UNIX based tools and power utilities as an every day part of their job role. Advanced operations such as complex data handling, code maintenance and generation and the processing of large complex data sets would be typical tasks that attendees should be able to perform. |

Developers, application support or similar staff who need to gain a better understanding of UNIX based power utilities and be able to better use the tools and facilities offered. |
| PREREQUISITES: |
Basic UNIX literacy gained through regular use of a UNIX based system and attendance of UNIX The Essentials. Good skills with the vi editor are highly desirable. |

This course is highly interactive and consists of theory coupled with plenty of hands on practical sessions. |
| OBJECTIVES: |
Attendees return to their work environment better able to use UNIX based systems as a daily part of their activities as a means to handling the data generated by their applications and systems or the maintenance of complex code sets. |
