This course will enable students to be proficient in developing and modeling reports in a multi user data warehouse (OLAP) environment, as well as become familiar with DW concepts, and team development.

Report writing, sql users, basic RDBMS understanding. |

- DAY 1
- Provide installation of software on individual Laptops / Personal Computers. XP or vista operating systems preferred (required).
- Setup and Configuration of all Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition Components.
- Overview of Data Warehouse Fundamentals and Methodologies (Kimball).
- Introduction to OBIEE and BI Server architecture.
- Installation of XE Database and import project schema used for classes.
- DAY 2
- Repository basics, structures, and functions.
- Use of BI Administration Tool.
- Building Physical Layer (Data Sources, Connection Pool, Tables, Keys, and Aliases.
- Multi-User Development including setup, merging of changes migration strategies.
- Creation of Projects .
- Lab setting up multiuser environment.
- Best practices to use Physical Layer.
- DAY 3
- Building a Business Model including logical tables, columns and data sources.
- Creating Time Dimension Hierarchy, Geographic Hierarchy, and others.
- Defining Logical Models and building Measures.
- Time Series functions overview, Level based measures, and Rank Measures.
- Building Presentation Layer in Repository and creation of presentation layer objects.
- Validation and Test of Repository Objects.
- Deployment of Repository to BI Server.
- Multiple Lab exercises to give hands on training as we build objects.
- DAY 4
- Introduction of Presentation Services Layers and Navigation.
- Answers,Dashboards, and Delivers components.
- Creating Reports,Filters,Prompts in Answers.
- Multiple views of same reports, pivot tables, and other views.
- Dashboard basics, and exploring the Dashboard Editor.
- Embedding content in Dashboard.
- Administering BI Presentation Catalogs.
- Configuring Delivers and creating IBOT’s for distribution.
- Best Practices while building Reports and Dashboards
- Packed with Labs for a hand on approach.
- DAY 5
- Security in BI Admintool and Presentation server Administration.
- Creation of users and groups, and permission settings.
- Setting up multiple connection pools.
- Query Limits and timing restrictions.
- Setting up and using Cache in BI Server.
- Creation of Cache purging, seeding using Event Polling Tables and maintainance using Cache Manager.
- Using Variables at the Presentation, Repository, and Session levels.
- Labs for all concepts mentioned above.
- General Discussion on “How to Get through the interview.”
