SUMMARY:   This intensive, extended-hours training course focuses on installing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting VMware® vSphere™. It combines the content of the VMware vSphere 4: Install, Configure, Manage course with advanced tasks and skills for configuring a highly available and scalable virtual infrastructure.

AUDIENCE:   Experienced system administrators and system integrators willing to work hard to achieve superior vSphere skills with minimal time away from the office.

OBJECTIVES:

    • Manage vCenter Server inventory hierarchies

    • Configure and troubleshoot vNetwork components
  6. Storage
    • Review storage management technologies
    • Analyze and troubleshoot storage-related issues
  7. Virtual Machines
    • Deploy virtual machines using templates, VMware vCenter Converter, and Guided Consolidation
    • Modify and manage virtual machines
  8. Access Control
    • Control user access through roles and permissions
  9. Resource Monitoring
    • Assess workloads and monitor resources through the GUI interfaces and CLI
  10. Scalability
    • Scale resource management
    • Manage multiple vCenter Server inventories
    • Perform VMware VMotion migrations
    • Configure clusters for VMware Distributed Resource Scheduler and VMware Distributed Power Management
