| SUMMARY: |
This 5-day course focuses on implementing network security. Participants will gain an understanding of network security technologies and will learn to manage and secure systems and network access. This course will also prepare students to pass the newly updated CompTIA Security+ certification exam (2008 edition) and comes with CertBlaster exam prep software. |
| AUDIENCE: |
Technology professionals interested in learning the principles and implementation of security in information networks. |
| PREREQUISITES: |
Although not a prerequisite, it is recommended that candidates have at least two years of technical networking experience, with an emphasis on security. |
| APPROACH: |
Instructor-led participative lecture with extensive hands-on labs.

| OBJECTIVES: |
After taking this course, students will understand the field of network security and how it relates to other areas of information technology. This course also provides the broad-based knowledge necessary to prepare for further study in specialized security fields, or it can serve as a capstone course that gives a general introduction to the field.
