System Programmers who have little or no experience using the System Modification Program (SMP/E) in an MVS, CICS, IMS, JES, or VTAM environment. |
| PREREQUISITES: |
Knowledge of VSAM, z/OS JCL, and z/OS Utilities. |
| APPROACH: |
This class is taught by lecture and hands on workshops. |
| OBJECTIVES: |
- To provide the student with knowledge about the structure of the SMP/E database and data sets.
- To provide an overview of SMP/E commands and functions.
- To provide information about the configuration of the z/OS system which may provide for more efficient maintenance protocols.
