| History: | ICE training 1999 - Present When Computer Associates acquired PLATINUM in early 1999, the nature of the training was going to change, and I felt that those customers that I had worked with for a number of years would disappear. I therefore elected to take redundancy, and have continued working at a number of Blue chip companies under my own company name. Those companies include Norwich Union, EDS, Huon, Equitable Life, NPI, and Royal Liver, all of whom are prepared if necessary to give references. Whilst continuing to give a wide variety of course I have specialized in DB2, across different platforms. PLATINUM technology (Sequel) 1991 - 1999 At Sequel (who was acquired by PLATINUM), I was employed to head up and expand the Training Division. The company at that time only delivered DB2 training and my knowledge and experience was far greater, including areas CICS, etc. A role that I continue with to date, working very closely with a set number of customers to give a range of training courses and consultancy. I am able to deliver the full range of PLATINUM’s DB2 courses to a variety of customers UK-wide, as well as providing an array of mainframe based general education to support this IBM database system. I am currently the Mainframe Graduate Training Manager, which enables me to oversee and co-ordinate the induction programmes that PLATINUM delivers in the UK. Within this role I am able to lead a team of Education Specialists, work closely with the Account Management Team and deliver courses on behalf of my organisation. An array of leading corporations who have received PLATINUM’s Mainframe Induction Programmes under my direction include: EDS Equitable Life Huon (IBM) ITSA ITT London & Edinburgh Logica Marks & Spencer Norwich Union NPI Royal Bank of Scotland Spring IT Solutions WH Smith I have also been called upon to provide in addition to my training expertise, consulting support to further aid the effectiveness of education through the value-added provision of consultancy. I have advised on such topics as the migration of various of mainframe systems, to the execution of database tools and various generation languages. Whilst at PLATINUM I have therefore been able to exercise a well-rounded technical solution to a large number of successful corporations. Data Training Ltd 1975 - 1991 Initially started as a Lecturer, delivering ICL courses in PLAN, COBOL, GEORGE 2/3 and VME. Quickly promoted to Senior Lecturer. In 1980, I was promoted to Group Manager. Responsible (along with 2 other Group Managers) for the day-to-day management of the training centre, controlling and conducting resources, improving course standards, ensuring client satisfaction, and the actual delivery of courses. In 1983, became Group Manager (IBM), charged with the responsibility of introducing the company into the IBM field. The emphasis of the roll changed slightly with the move into the new area, as more importance was placed upon the development of new courses (JCL, TSO, REXX, ISPF, CICS, DB2, COBOL, PL/1 etc.), the co-ordination of onsite training for several large clients and the building and motivation of a strong, new Lecturing Team. I left here, as it was obvious that the recession would force the company to close. CSP (Software House) 1972 - 1975 Employed as a Programmer and Senior Programmer on various projects throughout the UK. Left to develop a career in Education / Training.
